Examples
of Strategic Advisory Services
Lowe
Enterprises, Los
Angeles
- The services Lowe
Enterprises provides to its hotel-owning clients include
supervision of refurbishment, renovations, and development/construction
of new hotels. Lowe desired guidance as to how
others who offered these services priced them, and
wanted advice on its own rate structure. Paradigm
developed and administered a survey of over 30 recently
completed hotel refurbishment, renovations and new
developments to determine fee structures analogous
to those charged by Lowe. Based on the survey
results, Paradigm developed a recommended pricing
matrix for each type of service which was implemented
by Lowe Enterprises.
- Long
Term Credit Bank of Japan, Los Angeles
- The Long Term Credit
Bank of Japan (LTCB) was the lead lender for a loan
to the owners of the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua in Hawaii.
The loan was non-performing, and the owner made an
offer to LTCB to buy its loan from the bank group.
LTCB and other participating banks wished to
know whether accepting the offer was advisable.
Paradigm's Patterson led a group of consultants who
studied the hotel's operations and prospects for improved
profitability, ultimately comparing the proceeds that
would result from the loan sale to those from alternative
courses of action. The ultimate recommendation
that the owner's offer be accepted was put into action
by LTCB and the Bank Group.
